A slim cord-hung pendant in two parts: a narrow turned wood stem at the top, and a travertine shade below it that flares out to an open mouth at the bottom. The stone is cut as a single piece, so there is no seam between the neck and the flare, and the only visible join is where the shade meets the stem.
Design and materials
Our supplier's specification card for this model lists the materials as travertine and wood. The shade keeps the open pores and fine banding travertine is known for, so the figure differs from piece to piece. The stem above it is offered in two finishes, a dark walnut tone and a lighter natural wood tone, and the shade is a yellow travertine in both.
Light
The fitting takes a single G9 lamp, seated up inside the shade so the source is out of direct sight from below. Our supplier produces the model in three colour temperatures – warm 3000K, natural 4200K and cool 6000K – and the pieces we source are specified in warm 3000K. Because the mouth is narrow and the sides are solid stone, the beam is directional: it drops in a defined circle below the fitting rather than spreading sideways, which suits a spot over a table, an island or a bedside.
Size and hanging
The fitting measures 30 cm from the top of the stem to the rim of the shade, and 13 cm across at the mouth. It hangs on a cord that our supplier specifies as 180 cm and adjustable, so the drop is set at installation.
